how brave, how courageous 

to wind the key, to spin the wheel 

The sprocket of time, the gear unwinds

the teeth that lock into a chain interlocking in a sequential series of operation

rotational movement developed to handle a specific weight

What if the tension was off, 

the boyance of the spring had no weight
